randy oswalt, SCCB Assistant Conductor
Mr. Oswalt was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He attended Airport High School and The University of South Carolina where he earned his degree in Music Education as a Percussion Major. In the ensuing years he taught in Georgia, South Carolina, and most recently at Sneed Middle School in Florence.
Mr. Oswalt has also taught and worked professionally in New York and Nashville. He maintains a busy and diverse performance schedule working with The Florence Symphony, Florence Little, The Masterworks Choir, and the After Dark Jazz Quintet. He is also the director of The Florence Area Big Band.
In 2019, Mr. Oswalt founded The Florence Center for Contemporary Music, a non-profit music business that focuses on the creation, promotion, performance, and preservation of contemporary American music.
Currently living in Florence, Randy and his wife Tammy have four children and eight grand children.
